The Coaching Partnership

In coaching, we believe all people are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. Coaching is therefore not about diagnosing, treating, or otherwise “fixing” a person. It’s about honoring you – helping you to step fully into your unique strengths and awesomeness. So in our partnership we recognize you as the expert on your own life and the source of your own best answers.

Your Role

In our partnership, you’re our leader. You’ll therefore get the most out of coaching when:

  • You show up consistently
  • You’re curious about yourself
  • You’re willing to be vulnerable
  • You’re open to experimenting
  • You prepare for each session by writing an agenda
  • You commit to self-observation and take responsibility for your learning
 
My Role

As a coach, I don’t provide advice, opinions, or answers. Instead, I deliver my value by listening closely, asking questions, sharing direct feedback, challenging you to stretch yourself, inviting you to explore your evolving awareness, helping you up when you stumble, helping you celebrate when you score a win, championing your potential, providing accountability, sharing occasional worksheets or resources, and co-creating a safe space for your exploration.

Nuts & Bolts
  • Sessions are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm EST
  • We meet every 1-2 weeks
  • We can meet via Phone, Zoom, or Walk & Talk
  • Sessions are 1 hour and cost $125
  • Payment is due at the end of each session
  • 15 minutes of phone/text/email support between sessions is included
  • I ask you to mentally commit to 3-6 months of partnership since coaching bears its fruit with time 
  • Unfortunately health insurance companies do not cover my services. If cost is a barrier for you please reach out. I may be able to offer a reduced price.

Getting Started

1. Discovery Call

I offer a free discovery call for anyone interested in possibly coaching with me. Just get in touch. Typically we’ll talk for about 30 minutes.

2. Startup Packet

If we decide to proceed together, I’ll send you a Startup Packet that contains documents for you to review. I’ll ask you to fill out and return a few of these documents before our first session.

3. We Coach!

Then, we dive in! Our first two sessions are focused on getting to know each other and exploring your values and needs. At our third session you’ll start bringing the agenda and experimenting with fieldwork.

Sessions

You decide what we talk about.  Before each session you’ll prepare a brief written agenda which serves as the backbone for our conversation. Your agenda captures the topic you wish to explore and identifies what you’re hoping to get out of the conversation that day. During our sessions we’ll look at your recent experiences, things you’re noticing, new challenges and opportunities you’re facing, what action you’d like to experiment with next next, how you’re growing, and any new awareness or perspectives you’re holding.

Action Between Sessions

Fieldwork is where the magic happens.  While our sessions are valuable, the power of coaching is often realized between sessions when you apply your emerging awareness and learning directly to your life. So before each session concludes we devote time to identifying an action that you’d like to experiment with in the coming week or two. You’ll discover that your intended actions may not always go according to plan, but that’s okay and part of the learning process! Clients who regularly engage in fieldwork invariably get more out of the coaching experience.
